Despite a late start out of Miami, we arrived in Nicaragua smoothly. Gonzalo easily found us in the airport and drove us out of Managua smoothly and skillfully darting among the traffic of horse carts, motorcycles, bicycles, and cars which only loosely adhered to the suggestion of lanes. We zipped past small and colorful concrete houses tucked amongst little shops selling all manner of construction supplies. The Mariposa is set off the road on the side of a mountain near La Concepcion. Just wandering the grounds can be its own mini adventure where you can see rescued monkeys, toucans, and all manner of exotic birds. It's a well maintained jungle out there full of little paths criss-crossing the flora and fauna to many little study areas used for 1:1 Spanish lessons. More information on our time here coming soon!
